Kodi on raspberry pi 4

Guys,
I searched online, i tried different tutorials but i am stuck.
I have a raspberry pi 4 with 4gb of ram. I want to have multiple projects on it, not just kodi. Therefore, i installed rasbian and then kodi. I manage to make it run properly and could see my photos and videos. But, i was not able to play my go pro hero 7 4k videos. Only sound was played. Photos, were fine. I also added 400 mb to gpu.
Then i got frustrated, i formated the sdcard and installed libreelec. Then when i booted the pi, i had the same problem. Photos were fine and 4k from gopro only sound (and sound was laggy in both scenarios).
I know that raspberry pi is capable of 4k 60 fps video. Why i was not able to run a 4k video? Am i missing something?
Also, is raspberry pi able to play 4k videos from rasbian? Because i have multiple purposes for my pi, not only kodi player.
