OpenELEC 6.0 (5.95.x) unterstützt nicht mehr ION

    Super wollte ich gerade in freudiger Erwartung mal die neueste OE Version aufspielen und nix geht mehr. openelec failed to start xorg is your gpu supported
    Na vielen Dank auch. Weswegen wird das denn jetzt nicht mehr unterstützt? Gibt es eine brauchbare Alternative, die dann direkt ins Kodi bootet?

    ich habe auch eine Zotac Zbox ID41 Plus in meiner Sammlung, auf der seit ein paar Tagen testweise `mal OpenELEC 5.0.8 läuft, weil dies m.E. nach wie vor noch die beste OpenELEC-Version ist. 5.0.8 funktioniert auf der ID41 Plus sehr gut.

    Die OpenELEC 5.95.x-Versionen konnten mich hingegen allgemein eh nicht überzeugen, genau so wie Isengard mich grundsätzlich nicht überzeugt...ist wohl eher eine Zwischeinlösung, die mit dem "Müll" älterer Versionen aufräumen soll :/

    Bis vor ein paar Tagen lief auf der ID41 Kodibuntu und hiermit funktionierte die ION sogar bis hoch zu Kodi 16 alpha ohne Probleme. Sollte es wirklich einmal ein "stable" OpenELEC mit KODI Jarvis geben, welches die ION der ID41 Plus dann auch nicht unterstützt, wechsele ich eben wieder zu Kodibuntu. Das tut es nähmlich genau so gut, erfordert lediglich etwas mehr Linux-Grundkenntnisse. Dafür hat man auch ein vollwertiges Betriebssystem im Hintergrund. Und für OpenELEC habe ich habe ja auch noch andere Devices, die weiterhin unterstützt werden.

    ...also alles in allem kein wirklicher Verlust ;)

    Ich möchte eigentlich nur direkt durch booten ins Kodi alles andere brauche ich nicht. Dafür habe ich auch noch einen Smart TV den man aber auch nie wirklich nutzt. :P

    Dort gibt es [Stable] OpenELEC 6.0.0 (x86_64) weiß einer ob sich da bezüglich dem ION was geändert hat? Mein Kodi schmiert mittlerweile häufig ab, weil ich vermutlich ein paar mal die vorherige Version versucht habe zu installieren und dann wieder zurückgegangen bin. Mittlerweile nervt es mich aber echt total.

    Würde gerne mal updaten, sonst muss ich wohl wirklich mal auf Kodibuntu wechseln aber dann habe ich verdammt viel Arbeit das alles wieder einzurichten.

    Determining if Generic OpenELEC 5.x needs replaced with Legacy OpenELEC 6.0


    The OpenELEC 6.0 release includes a new variation designed specifically to accommodate OLD nvidia hardware that has been dropped by nvidia themselves from their most modern driver.
    However there is some confusion as to how to determine exactly if this is relevant to you.
    Method 1
    In OpenELEC navigate to system / system info / video, note down your GPU model and locate it in one of the following lists:
    Generic 64bit (x86_64) builds http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/83686Nvidia_Legacy 64bit (x86_64) http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/80134If your GPU is listed ONLY in the Nvidia_Legacy 64bit (x86_64) list then that is the version you should use. If it is listed in both Nvidia_Legacy 64bit (x86_64) and Generic 64bit (x86_64) lists then you should use the Generic build.
    Due to sometimes confusing product naming you may not get an exact match. If you are still in doubt use method 2 which is definitive.
    Method 2
    Enable SSH via the OpenELEC settings page and remote into the box.
    Issue this command:
    lspci -nn | grep VGAwhich should return something like:
    02:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: nvidia Corporation C79 [GeForce 9400] [10de:086a] (rev b1)Take a note of the Product ID. In this example it is 086a.
    Locate your nvidia product ID on one of the following pages:
